Day in and day out, Sogliano Ambiente performs its work in the open for all to behold. This is why our work is based on such principles and values as transparency, clarity, reliability and credibility. To ensure that these aims are achieved, in full compliance with current law and business ethics, on May 3, 2007 the Sogliano Ambiente S.p.A. Board of Directors approved theOrganizational and Management Model as per Leg. Dec. 231/01 and the related "Code of Ethics".

Moreover, we know full well that our activities must pursue increasingly high levels of environmental protection. In fact, we base plant management on choices that enable us to achieve the environmental protection goals we share with public and private stakeholders. Likewise we place fundamental importance on communication with the outside on the environmental impact of our activities. We work to raise the stakeholder (the general population, control bodies, users and suppliers) awareness of the solutions chosen. For this reason we have obtained the following certifications:


Membership in the National Register of Waste Management Companies - Emilia Romagna regional section.

• Waste Transport (CAT 1D, 4C and 5F);
• Contaminated site clean-up (CAT. 9D).
• Management of plants owned by third parties.


Qualification to perform public works (design and construction services) for the following categories:

• OG9 electrical power generation plants;
• OG12 clean-up and environmental protection works and plants;
• OS14 waste disposal and recovery plants certified by SOA NORDEST Spa.


Certified integrated environment/quality system

• Reg. EC/761/01 (EMAS) registration of the activities involved in managing the Ginestreto landfill in Sogliano al Rubicone, the related electricity generation plant run with recovered biogas and the waste sorting and treatment plant. Registration was received in 2002.

• UNI ISO 14001 certification of the activities involved in managing construction and operation of the Ginestreto landfill in compliance with the permits, including biogas power recovery through in-landfill collection and electrical power generation using internal combustion engines. Sorting and treatment of non-hazardous waste at the Ginestreto site. Design, construction and operation of third party landfills for the disposal of non-hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste recovery plants. Design, construction and management of proprietary and third party biogas-powered electricity generation plants. Certification was received in 2002.

• UNI ISO 9001 certification of the design, construction and management of landfills, recovery plants and biogas-powered electricity generation plants. Management of plants for sorting, treating and marketing non-hazardous waste. Certification was received in 2004.

In addition to environmental protection, we consider the health and safety of our workforce to be an essential part of our job. This is why Sogliano Ambiente has implemented an OHSAS 18001:2007 compliant certification procedureOHSAS 18001:2007.
