For the purpose of making the most of waste, Sogliano Ambiente turns it into a resource for production processes, intervening in all phases of the waste management cycle.

More specifically this is the case of landfill biogas, i.e. the biodegradable organic fraction residue, mainly made up of methane. It is “captured” with the advantage of making waste inert more rapidly on the one hand, and – on the other side - providing a high quality energy resource (with a low environmental impact) usable on site or, alternatively, for other power plants or fed into the grid.

In this specific sector, Sogliano Ambiente supports its customers in the following areas:

  • Design, construction and running of biogas recycling and cogeneration plants;
  • Design and construction of installations for heat recovery from exhaust fumes for thermal use and energy production.

As part of its advanced management research, the company has patented an innovative cover system for wellheads to optimise biogas capturing.

Plant associated with the Ginestreto landfill in Sogliano al Rubicone (Forlì-Cesena)

  • 3.25 million m³ of waste

The project involves:

  • Design, construction and running of a biogas recycling plant from the landfill, with a potential of 4000 m³/h and an extension of about 15 km of piping and dedicated capturing wells.
  • Design, construction and running of a co-generation plant with an installed power of 4,690 kWh.
  • Heat recovery plant for exhaust fumes from biogas combustion engines, with an average production of about 230 kWh.

The project involves:

  • Design, construction and running of a co-generation plant and biogas suction system from the landfill
  • Landfill owned by Marche Multiservizi srl. Co-generation and biogas suction plant owned by Sogliano Ambiente S.p.A., in charge of the running, routine and extraordinary management of the installation
